Hey There!

I'm Howard, and I'm on an exciting journey to become my best self, all because of God's amazing grace! I'm passionate about loving and serving God while thriving in the incredible love of Christ. As a devoted husband and hands-on dad of five (yup, five!), I keep it real about my struggles with patience and how I embrace every moment! I have the joy of serving the best congregation on this side of heaven as the Lead Pastor at GracePointe Church of the Nazarene (www.gpnaz.church).

I’m eager to share the Gospel and advocate for biblical justice both in the church and beyond. I love mentoring youth and making friends. I am always hungry for knowledge and dreaming big. I roll with the punches and cherish life’s simple pleasures—like indulging in some delicious Fettuccini Alfredo. When I’m not doing that, you can catch me gaming, cheering for my favorite soccer team (Columbus Crew), or hitting the pavement for a refreshing run or bike ride.

What does it mean to be a Christian?

To be a Christian, simply put, is to be a Jesus-follower—to do what Jesus did and to act like Jesus' acted. However, we are only able to truly act like Jesus when our minds are being transformed into "the mind of Christ" through the ongoing, renewing work of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:1-2; 1Corinthians 2). We were created in God's image to rule and reign in the earth as God's ambassadors of wholeness, peace, joy, healing, righteousness, etc. (Genesis 1:26-28).

How do I become a Christian?

Initiating the Christian journey can be done in three easy steps. Admit Sin. (Telling God I'm sorry for trying to live life on my terms and not His). Turn Around. (Telling God that I'm ready to turn live by His terms, receive His forgiveness, walk in the footsteps of Jesus, trust in Him, and receive the renewing presence of the Holy Spirit.) Say Thank You. (Thanking God for His love, grace, forgiveness, and for the renewing work of Jesus done on the cross.)

Prayer of Salvation

Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for sacrificing your life for me on the cross. I confess and repent of the wrongs in my life. I now turn away from everything I know is wrong and accept your gift of forgiveness. I put my trust in your sacrificial act on the cross. I humbly ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit, granting me the strength to live the life I truly desire. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.
